Summer Tourism Season In Bansko Mountain Resort Started

Summer tourism season in Bulgaria mountain resort of Bansko started with the folklore festival 'Between Three Mountains', informed the mayor of the city Aleksander Kravarov.

He highlighted that the event coincides with the holiday of Bulgarian education and Slavic literacy - May 24.

The opening of the season enters in the atmosphere of the holidays of Bansko's traditions, organized every year by the municipality, Karvarov added.

The realized incomes from nights spend for the first three months of the year goes to 88,6 million BGN (44 million EUR), says data by National Statistical Institute.

More than the half of the sum was from foreign tourists.

Less than 29 million BGN (14 million EUR) are the incomes from nights spend in Sofia - city, while in the city of Blagoevgrad (South - Western Bulgaria) are 14 million BGN (7 million EUR) .

Smolian city (Rhodope Mountains - South Bulgaria) holds the third position with incomes of 8,3 million BGN (4,1 million EUR).

A total of 12 Bulgarian cities may praise with incomes over 1 million BGN (500 000 EUR) for the period.international.ibox.bg
